While supplies last, Sweetwater is selling the Roland AX-09 Lucina “Shoulder Synth” for $169.
I picked one up in January — it’s a great addition to the studio, fun to play and easy to travel with. A week after its arrival I played it at the Gaylord National near Washington DC with no problem. The violin, trombone and jazz scat voices in the ‘Special Tones’ section are first rate and offer a broad range of realism and expression.
Roland suggests rechargeable batteries, not alkaline — a bit unusual, but not a deal breaker as the unit ships with an AC adapter.
These are ‘B’ stock synths in Sweetwater’s catalog but that can be a plus especially at this price point. Lucina reviews and videos abound online so I won’t repeat the units stats here. I do encourage you to check out the listing at Sweetwater.
As always, tell ’em MT sent you…
