MT Receives Ryman Anniversary Gift

August 13, 2019

To mark the first anniversary of MT Glass joining the RHP family, his wife, QT presented him with a Ryman Auditorium,”I’m With the Band” keychain. A year ago, on this date, she surprised the entertainer with one share of RHP stock.

Ryman Hospitality Properties (RHP) owns the Grand Ole Opry, WSM 650 AM, the Ryman Auditorium, Ole Red, and the Gaylord hotels.

“It’s been a fun and fast year,” said MT. “I’m proud to be associated with such iconic entertainment and impressive resort brands.”

MT Glass Joins Family of Opry

August 16, 2018

MT Glass came late to country music, but on his 65th birthday the entertainer learned he’s officially part of the family that includes the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and WSM radio.

“To be connected with a legendary past, a record-setting present and a promising future is a wonderful gift,” said Glass. “I’m thrilled to be associated with such history, hospitality, entertainment, and technology.”

As part of his birthday celebration at Notre Vir, QT Glass presented her husband a share of Ryman Hospitality Properties (RHP) which also owns the entertainment brand Ole Red, and part of Opry City Stage in Times Square.

Other horses in the RHP stable include the upscale Gaylord Hotels, Gaylord Springs Golf Links, the Wildhorse Saloon, the General Jackson Showboat, the Inn at Opryland, and the AC Hotel Washington, DC at National Harbor.

“Over the years, I’ve been booked in the Gaylord hotels in Texas and Washington — they’re unbelievable!” said MT Glass.

But he never considered ownership. It took a new car — with Sirius/XM radio — purchased in January 2017, to get the dots connected.

“I started listening to Willie’s Roadhouse — it was so different from my usual ear candy,” he said.

Through the Roadhouse, MT discovered “new” artists, songs, and styles. He explored the work of Chet Atkins and Doyle Dykes in particular, adding “Mr. Sandman” and “How Great Thou Art” to his set-list.

Tuned to the Roadhouse,  he inevitably — yet belatedly — experienced the Grand Ole Opry (founded in 1925). That led to research, reading, and now investing.

“All roads may lead to ROME, but I’m glad the Roadhouse led to RHP,” said Glass.

Bradford Estate and Clarks Landing List M T as “Best of the Best”

March 6, 2013

Two area venues named M T Glass “Best of the Best” for 2012 and 2013.

Clarks Landing Yacht Club in Delran, and the Bradford Estate in Hainesport  selected MT for their “Best of the Best” 2012 and 2013 directories in the Specialty Entertainment category. “Hand selected for talent and professionalism,” MT enjoyed a listing on their websites, and in promotional material distributed to clients. “I’m thrilled,” said M T. “I’ve played both venues for years and have always been impressed. Staff, service, atmosphere, location and food are all top notch,” he added.

The “Best of the Best” is officially unveiled in June, and also recognizes outstanding quality and value among florists, officiants, DJ’s, bands, photographers, limo services, and more.
